Location

Eype is a small village with a Pub nestled on the edge of the Jurassic Coast and easily found just off the A35 between Bridport and Chideock.   Full Directions will be given upon receipt of booking.

From London it takes between 2.5 to 3 hours depending on traffic.

Nearest Train Stations are Dorchester South or Axminster

To see the area, watch Broadchurch the series, the crime scene was set in a wooden chalet in Eype and the scenery includes Burton Bradstock, West Bay, Eype and other local areas.

There are lots of good places to eat, local and seasonal food currently with Vegetarian and Gluten free options. I can send a list if you wish to book in advance

Bridport has a Market selling local produce on Wednesdays and Saturdays, there is a Vintage quarter where you can pick up some interesting bargains.

We have an ‘Electric Cinema’ which shows a film most Saturdays (pro Covid) and has some great guest Bands and Comedians.  Worth looking to see if there is anyone on and booking around that time.

We have an excellent local vineyard, Furleigh Estate where you can book a tasting tour and buy afterwards. The day I visited it was a hot summer afternoon and it felt as though I was in the South of France.

The Beach in Eype varies depending on the time of year and tide. It ranges from large stones to small pebbles and sand.  Charmouth is sandy and famous for fossil hunting, Lyme Regis is close and is full of small shops, Cafés and the famous Cobb.

The walking is excellent, small circular walks around the village for those enjoying a stroll but walking to West Bay for a Crab Sandwich or delicious Fish Chowder served at Rachels is about a 25-minute walk.
